God's goodness doesn't fit in the box that is my mind.
I should prolly know the answer to this cuz I'm in Systematic Theology and we've talked about His goodness... but I don't.
God's goodness is his completeness. It is his true identity. It is his father/shepherd heart towards us that will lay down His life for us. (John 10:10) His desire is to pour out grace, beauty, adoration, peace and blessing on us. It looks like a smile.
What makes it hard for us to understand his goodness is our own incompletness. We forget that we are made in HIS image, not the other way around.
God's goodness looks like a spring of water in a desert. Even in our largest of failings, he is longing to heal us, to free us, to save us and lead us into a friendship with Him.
God is good. (read Psalm 107)
A saint is not someone who is good but who experiences the goodness of God. Thomas Merton.
The goodness of God is maybe His grace. It is underserved but He is so GOOD that He gives it to us anyways. Even when we don't feel like He is good, His grace should be enough to make us change our mind. I love you.
what comes to mind are the words emsence and endless!

it looks like a lot of things (ie: everything he is, and everything he has made that we get to take part in)
...at the moment it's his silent promise, pain, and the fact that he calls me his friend

All I can think about is, Grace.
As humans living on this earth, isn't that what we have to look to? To fall back on? To trust in?
